Velvet Mangan and Patrick Babcockby Allen Cardoza

Velvet Mangan, the founder of Safe Harbor and Patrick Babcock, founder and executive director of Foundation House Treatment Center joined Allen Cardoza and Dr. Melody on LA Talk Radio.

The two treatment centers help out of control drug and alcohol-addicted men and women get control of their lives and rid themselves of the shame, self-loathing, body distortion, codependency, self-esteem, and negative patterns. During treatment, patients also begin focusing on healing and re-establishing family and friends relationships.

As a recovered alcoholic woman herself, Velvet Mangan deeply understands the heartache and hopelessness that comes with an addiction. As the founder of Safe Harbor Treatment Center for Women, she helps women find permanent healing from the addictions that are ruining their lives. She has over 23 years experience helping women overcome addictions.

When Mangan started her own personal journey towards recovery and sobriety, there was no safe place for her to go. Years later, she developed Safe Harbor because she saw a need for a special place for women to recover.

The Founder and Executive Director of Foundation House, Patrick Babcock began his professional career helping men in recovery from alcoholism and chemical dependency. Since 2002, he has helped hundreds of men break free from addiction and experience a sober and happier way of life.

The 12-step program, Babcock believes, is essential for an individual to enjoy long term recovery. As a result of his own successful experiences with it, he has created the right environment in Foundation House to use the practical and holistic approach of the 12-steps. He is convinced that it teaches the residents how to get sober and how to stay sober.

Observing his father, a successful business owner, Babcock learned motivational and leadership techniques. He also studied the teachings of Coaches Vince Lombardi and John Wooden. Additionally, he has modeled the work in the recovery field demonstrated by Mr. Greg Varley and Mrs. Geraldine Owen Delaney of Alina Lodge
