Daniel and His Starry Night Blanket, is a tale of a young child whose older sister has cancer, the book chronicles the boy’s development and relationship with his sister as the family confronts this health challenge together.
In the midst of such an unfamiliar situation, younger siblings of an ill child often feel left out, angry, sad, scared, guilty, and envious. Sally’s book is a resource for families with young children on such a journey through life-threatening pediatric illness.
Sally has created a guest blog for CancerSavvy, a service of Maine Health’s Cancer Resource Center and begun a fund raising campaign through www.hatchfund.org, a nonprofit working with artists to support their culturally relevant projects.
ABOUT SALLY LOUGHRIDGE

When she was a practicing child psychologist, together with two of her colleagues, she incorporated many off her drawings in three children’s books on family change.
