In the aftermath of writing Tell Me Where It Hurts and Love is the Best Medicine, Nick Trout frequently asked himself, “What brought you to this point”? “What made you choose your career”? Truthfully there’s been nothing particularly special about his life stuff happened, he committed to a certain path, and many of the decisions he made were influenced by the lessons he learned along the way and how he interpreted their meaning. Like so many of us, Nick happened to grow up around animals, the creatures he has come to think of as his own pets, and as it turned out, each and every one of them played a vital part in bringing him to this point.
In Nick’s third book, Ever By My Side, he turn the lens inward and take the opportunity to relive a few of these defining moments throughout his life in which animals took their cue, stepped up, and gave him a chance to appreciate a different perspective. This book is Nick’s attempt to show them off and share their subtle, startling and inspirational lessons.
