TITLE: “Love Cycles, My Ability to be Me and Still Stay Connected to You”
We are finding out more and more that resilience is one of the most essential qualities of healthy living, and if parents are not modeling HEALTHY attachment skills, often their kids only have distorted cultural views to learn from.
Teens become stuck in what Linda’s Carroll’s new book ,Love Cyles, terms, the Merge stage, where “falling in love” is what they believe true love to be. Unfortunately, this viewpoint only leads disappointment, distress and separation.
Linda believes that fighting is normal, what damages us is separation. Love Cyles is a template for helping families stay together and overcoming many of the challenging situations in life.
In summary, kids who see their parents withstand diversity, anger, disappointment and distress and come out the other side with a caring relationship, are more likely to learn and apply those skills in their own lives.
