Read More “Prevent, Not Stent”

For over 25 years, Dr. Joel Kahn has been studying and treating patients with known or suspected heart disease. He discusses with Allen, his new book, Prevent, Not Stent, that explains how although we have many wonderful medical innovations we are not keeping our eye on the target: which is prevention.

We are eating, sitting, stressing, and yelling ourselves into an epidemic of a diseases that are completely preventable in most persons: heart and vascular blockages, obesity, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, sexual dysfunction, and stroke.

Dr. Kahn has witnessed so much pain, suffering, loss of pleasure, loss of income, premature disability, and death that could have been largely prevented by a different lifestyle program. A few consistent choices in exercise, portion control, food selection, stress management and joyful activities and so many lives could have been improved.
