A deeply moving and courageously written story, Kelly Holland’s new book, Primary Gift, is one of those can’t-put-down reads that will inspire you to reach inside yourself and create the best possible life you can.

Kelly’s story serves as the foundation for her message, as during childhood she experienced tremendous family turmoil and violence. By age 11, she began using drugs and when Kelly was 14, her mother, who suffered from schizophrenia, vanished one day when she was at school. Now a ward of the court and living in a regimented state group home, Kelly gained enough stability to successfully complete her high school education.

Since childhood, Kelly has lived with ADHD. At college, her struggles were significant. It wasn’t until years later and with much professional guidance, counseling and academic accommodations for her ADHD, was Kelly able to return to school and successfully complete her college education.
In was during these challenging years that Kelly met Denise, a PH.D, licensed psychologist who helped Kelly regained her life’s stability and developed a deeply loving, respectful and supportive relationship for herself and with her mother. She also gained an understanding of her mother’s schizophrenia that goes beyond what most can comprehend.
Kelly ‘s personal journey encourages everyone to tap into their your most important tool – positive thought – in order to enter into a loving relationship with oneself and others. It illuminates how role models can empower and teach you to access your innate talents, wisdom, and guidance.
In this not-to-missed show, Kelly’s shares how Primary Gift provides individuals of all ages, regardless of their personal circumstances and challenges, with a guide to reaching that excellence that still awaits them. Her motto: “Any life you dream, you can live!”

ABOUT KELLY HOLLAND

Kelly F. Holland was born in Kansas City, Kansas in 1962. Her mother suffered from schizophrenia and her father abandoned the family during Kelly’s first year of life. After her grandfather passed away and her mother left at age 14, Kelly became a ward of the court and lived in Pilot House, a state group home for teenage girls, until she turned eighteen.

While at Pilot House, Kelly thrived. The stability, structure and love of the group home allowed her to discover the talents that lived within her.  Her success culminated in her receiving thousands of dollars in grant money to attend college at Kansas University.

Challenges with ADHD interfered with her college studies and it was years later that she was able to finish her degree.

In 2004, Kelly relocated to Arizona, where she hosted her own radio show and has served as director of physical therapy. Today, Kelly works as an outpatient physical therapist in Chandler, Arizona, and specializes in mechanical diagnosis and therapy. Kelly serves as a positive role model for what is possible in life. Kelly’s book, which is dedicated to Denise and to her mother, calls forward a responsibility in each of us to create our best life from within by utilizing our life’s most powerful tool, our ability to think positively.
