TITLE: “Smoking Cessation: The Source – E-Cigs are a Real Danger, Especially for Young People”
SPECIAL GUEST:
Dr. Jason Levine
Dr. Jason Levine sees young people who are using e-cigarettes becoming addicted to nicotine – exactly what they are purported to prevent. That is a real danger. In addition, it is being glamorized under the guise of being relatively harmless, when in fact the jury is still out as to how safe it actually might be.
Nicotine is a known stimulant and at one time was used as an insecticide. Using a stimulant on an hourly or daily basis could have negative effects over time on the user’s circulatory system and heart. Watching young people “vape” as if they are sucking on a pacifier is tremendously heartbreaking to see, as we as a nation are finally starting to make progress in this horrifying issue. E-Cigs are not something to be glamorized, instead people need real support to get off of these highly addictive devices and drugs.
