TITLE: “Teen Girls Preparing to Step Into A New Life”
SPECIAL GUESTS: Dustin Tibbitts, LMFT’ | President and Chief Clinical Officer, Partner, InnerChange & Executive Director, New Haven
(InnerChange Programs include: Fulshear Ranch Academy, New Haven Residential Treatment Center & Sunrise Residential Treatment Program)
Allen and Melody are joined by Dustin Tibbitts to discuss the unique “InnerChange” treatment programs that allow teen girls and young adult women and their families to stabilize, heal, and begin to discover their life’s passion.
InnerChange’s programs are gender specific, family focused and results based. Dustin will be discussing the treatment industry as a whole (behavioral vs relationship based treatment) and will increase understanding as to why gender specific treatment is important in the process of healing for females who are struggling with complex behavioral and emotional issues.
ABOUT DUSTIN TIBBITTS
Dustin was a founding employee of New Haven in 1996, beginning as a staff supervisor working directly with the girls. He coordinated the development of New Haven’s Family Works© approach, its Values Program, its clinical philosophy and its extensive employee training program. He has been at New Haven’s helm since 2001.
In 2006 Dustin helped form InnerChange and became a minor partner. He assisted with the purchase of Sunrise later that year and Fulshear Ranch Academy in 2007. Dustin’s mental health experience includes seventeen years working with intensive in-patient residential treatment settings, outpatient therapy, transition services, rape and suicide crisis lines, and raising five foster teenagers in his home.
ABOUT INNERCHANGE
While every InnerChange program has a unique specialty, all are unified by a common set of treatment values and standards that have allowed us to have the most impressive outcomes in adolescent treatment. We are committed to providing values based, family oriented programs that utilize the most clinically sophisticated approaches available – approaches proven to be effective for the long-term healing of adolescent and young adult issues.
Values-based
Our company is based on values such as community, responsibility, compassion, contribution, and honesty—the kinds of basic humanistic values required for any organization, family, or program to function in a healthy manner. These values create a strong foundation that guides our company and informs the work with do with families. Our values curriculum allows young people to explore, articulate, and internalize the kind of personal values that will help them thrive as contributing members of society.
Family-oriented
Our programs wrap support around the whole family to ensure that changes made in treatment endure. When a young person goes through a treatment process that does not involve the family system, changes made in treatment seldom survive the transition home because the family is not prepared to support them. InnerChange programs provide the most robust family services in the treatment industry, including visits, family-systems therapy, retreats, and extensive whole-family coaching for the young person’s transition back home or to independence.
Clinically sophisticated
We believe that the field of family and adolescent and young adult treatment is constantly evolving, so we hire licensed and experienced clinicians to employ leading-edge, research-supported treatment approaches. Our company-wide clinical leadership team engages in an ongoing collaborative process that includes clinical research, evaluation, and refinement so that we can provide you with the best care available anywhere.
