A little known fact is that that family law may now be responsible for 25% of the crime in this country: homicides, suicides, kidnapping, child abuse, violation of court orders, violation of restraining orders and more. To put just one of those numbers into perspective, that is 4,000 homicides a year related to family law.
Catherine MacWillie, founder of Custody Calculations, has tackled this travesty head on by creating a full and complete line of services to serve the entire divorce community through seminars, coaching and the 3-Step Program which will be going into final development.
One of the most important and unique pieces is the unusual way in which Catherine and her staff prepare their clients when dealing with the destructive behavior of a former spouse in and out of the court room.
In protecting the children of divorce, Catherine is an expert in address parents who are attempting to interfere in the other parents’ relationship with their children by withholding custody, returning children late or picking them up early, inappropriate statements made by the other parent and the impact and recognition of the pressure often placed on children as a result of their parents’ divorce.
But it doesn’t end there, in our interview, Catherine will also discuss her work looking for children who have run away from home and school, children who feel lost, alone and frustrated during their parents’ divorce. .

A prior law enforcement officer with approximately 24 years of service, Catherine DeWillie has extensive experience in the field dealing with family law issues, mediating court orders, enforcing court orders, taking police reports, facilitating custody exchanges and looking for children who have run away from home and school, children who feel lost, alone and frustrated during their parents’ divorce.
In addition to her law enforcement experience, Catherine MacWillie spent ten years researching the issue of family law into the cause and effect of Family Law and in development of the services of Custody Calculations, to serve the entire divorce community through seminars, one on one coaching, and courses that are being offered at La Verne University through their extended learning program on Navigating Family Change: Dealing With Divorce and Custody. Which by the way may be the first offered at this level anywhere in the United States.
Not long ago Catherine was in Washington D.C. to present at the First Conference of the Parental Alienation Study Group. An international association of professionals around the globe committed to the education, training and awareness of parental alienation.
Previous to that Catherine gave a video presentation at the Adolescent Medicine and Child Psychiatry Conference in Berlin, Germany. Also dealing with Parental Alienation. She has also been asked to speak in London at the European Practitioners on Parental Alienation in 2018. Very impressive.
