SPECIAL GUEST: James Redfield, Author of both – “The Twelfth Insight”, and Mega Bestseller: “The Celestine Prophecy”
Allen and Melody are joined by James Redfield to discuss his much-awaited fourth installment in the hugely popular Celestine series – “The Twelfth Insight”. It describes a new wave of religious tolerance and integrity that is now silently arriving, in reaction to watching years of religious warfare and political corruption.
According to Redfield, 2012 is not about the end of the world; it is about the emergence of an “Authentic Spirituality”– which brings into daily life the synchronicity, intuition, and mission long predicted by every major religious tradition.

Redfield’s first book since 1999, THE TWELFTH INSIGHT is an adventure tale, both suspenseful and contemplative, that builds on the insights introduced in the previous books.
When Warner Books, now Grand Central Publishing, published author and therapist James Redfield’s The Celestine Prophecy in hardcover in 1994, this adventure parable about a spiritual journey to Peru became one of modern publishing’s greatest success stories. The immediate ground swell of enthusiasm from booksellers and readers alike instantly propelled this phenomenal novel to the top of the New York Times best seller list. It spent over 3 years on the list and appeared on lists all around the world. In 1995 and 1996, it was the #1 bestselling American book in the world.
That tremendous success was followed by Redfield’s eagerly awaited sequel, The Tenth Insight: Holding the Vision which also became an instant bestseller; and The Secret of Shambhala: In Search of the Eleventh Insight. Altogether Redfield is estimated to have over 12 million books in print in over 35 countries.
About the Author
James Redfield was 43 when he published The Celestine Prophecy. He has been keenly interested in human spirituality all of his life. Brought up in a Methodist Church that was loving and community-oriented, he was nevertheless frustrated by a lack of answers to his questions about the true nature of spiritual experience. As a young man, he studied Eastern philosophies, including Taoism and Zen, while majoring in sociology at Auburn University All along, Redfield was forming ideas that would eventually find their way into The Celestine Prophecy. Using an adventure parable approach that has been called “part Indiana Jones, part Scott Peck,” The Celestine Prophecy created a model for spiritual perception and actualization that resonated with millions of people and focused on the mysterious coincidences that occur in each of our lives. Disdaining the spotlight himself, Redfield proclaimed in The Celestine Prophecy that each of us must intuit his own spiritual destiny.
After the book was brought to the attention of Warner Books through a perceptive sales rep, Warner Books bought the rights and published the hard cover edition in March 1994. The book quickly climbed to the #1 position on the New York Time bestsellers list. It remained on that list for more than three years, joined by The Tenth Insight, which built upon the Nine Insights revealed in the first novel. The two books spent a combined 74 weeks on the New York Times list, making James Redfield the best-selling hard cover author in the world in 1996, as cited in BP Report.
