Susan Borisonby Allen Cardoza

Susan Borison, the Editor-in-Chief of Your Teen (YT) magazine joined Allen Cardoza and Dr Melody Foxx on L.A. Talk Radio.

The magazine was started because Borison wanted to fill a void in the marketplace. When she noticed that she could not find a magazine that allowed parents to connect and share their experiences about their teens, her husband suggested she start one on her own.

The magazine is a media platform where parents can share critical information with each other. Many parents are reluctant to share their fears and perceived failures related to their teenagers. In addition to personal stories about parents navigating the daily challenges of parenting teens, Your Teen is also a great resource for advice from top professionals in the field of Child Psychology and other relevant areas.

When worry turns to crisis, most parents seek professional help. They solicit intervention from experts only when concerning behavior becomes an obvious problem. The magazine helps parents determine whether the daily struggles of their adolescents are normal, since one of biggest struggles parents face is distinguishing between normal behavior and problematic behavior.

At Your Teen critical information can be learned from the experiences of other parents. However, since many parents are reluctant to share their fears and perceived failures, Your Teen creates a vehicle for these discussions and helps parents of teens identify what is normal.

The publication shares many professional opinions, but, the magazine does not stop there, because it also includes stories from teens. With three different perspectives: interviewed experts, articles from parents, and teen stories, the magazine paints a full picture. Borison encourages parents to join in the conversation through the print magazine, the website, or on the magazine’s Facebook page.

The magazine is also available in Barnes & Noble and Border Bookstores throughout Ohio and Joseph Beth Booksellers at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst Ohio. Subscriptions can also be placed online.
