Joining Allen and Melody is Al Primo, founder of Teen Kids News, a national 1/2 hour weekly program that is informative, educational and entertaining! The show has been on the air since 2003, and given how many people watch it and love it, the show will be on forever!

Teen Kids News (TKN) highlights positive stories about kids doing amazing things and helping to make the world a better place.

In addition, the TKN reporters on the show (who are, of course, all kids!) report on everything that is fun or interesting or important about our world. These stories range from kids who fly planes to how to deal with bullying to the best way to throw a baseball for power, to tips on getting into college to making friends to behind the scenes with entertainers.

About Al Primo

Al Primo founded Eyewitness Newservice in 1977 after ten years with ABC-TV. He is also an independent producer with many credits including developing an annual syndicated special, Black History, as well as the investigative news series, “Now It Can Be Told” with Geraldo Rivera, who Primo discovered and trained as a journalist with Columbia University. Al served as consultant in the development period and as Executive Producer of the program. Al Primo is also a founding partner of Medialink Worldwide, a public company that produces and dsitrubtes video news releases by satellite to TV stations in the United States and Europe.

He is a performance coach for business executives and has assisted major political figures with their communications skills.

He has expanded his vision to the Internet as co-founder and President of ForeignTV.com, a public company that owns and operates streaming video networks.

He frequently appears as a media expert on radio and television and is currently writing a book on Eyewitness News. He is also a consultant for the CBS Evening News and has spoken on the subject of TV News at Fordham University, Columbia University, Roger Williams University, Arizona State University, and Hardin Simmons College.

Al Primo also developed the world’s first teenage newcast, TEEN KIDS NEWS, which is carried on 215 TV stations, covering 91% of USA. It is also seen in 1,000 locations in 177 countries via American Forces Networks. The educational version of the program is seen in 10,000 schools every week.

    The show started airing in September of 2003 and has been on TV every single week since then!

    The main studio where the show is filmed is located in New York City, NY
  5. How can I become a reporter on the show?
    This is the question that we get asked the most! There are no positions available at this time. HOWEVER, Teen Kids News does occasionally conduct auditions to be a guest reporter.
  6. How do I find out about upcoming contests or auditions on the show?
    In addition to being posted in the “Contest” section of the website, announcements of any upcoming auditions and contests will be made on the TKN Facebook page, TKN Twitter and in the Teen Kids News Newsletter.
  7. Is Teen Kids News shown in schools?
    In addition to being aired on television, the show is broadcast, without commercials, weekly to over six million teens in over 8,000 middle schools and high schools across the country. This is nearly 25% of America’s teens — and hundreds of thousands of educators.

    Albert Primo, the award-winning creator of “Eyewitness News” for adults, decided that is was important to have a news show for kids by kids. He wanted to create a show that focused on teens and kids doing positive things in the world and to feature information that was relevant to kids.
  10. Does Teen Kids News work with other news organizations?
    Yes, NBC Sports and FOX News. Both create exclusive segments for Teen Kids News.

    FOX News produces an exclusive school report every week on American current events. The segment, Fox News Channel in the Classroom, is part of the educational program only and gives teachers intriguing and engaging material to teach current affairs and spark discussion.
