According to Dr. Jason Carthen, underprivileged and disadvantaged students are the single greatest challenge in any educational system and their communities.  Based in social psychological research, the goal of introducing leadership training to these youth, is to combat negative stereotypes, introduce youth to positive role models, and help them increase their self-confidence.  A formula Carthen believes lays the groundwork for a creating a healthy and productive, contributing member of society.

Dr. Carthen, a longtime proponent of civic engagement, social justice and youth advocacy, founded the Leaders of Tomorrow Initiative, a non-profit organization aiming to educate underprivileged youth about leadership, character and civic responsibilities.

In 2010, he started another highly successful mentoring project that uses his own curriculum for The T.I.E.S. that Bind Leadership and Mentoring Program to increase leadership capacities, school engagement and reading skills among high school and college students.

ABOUT DR. JASON CARTHEN

Dr. Jason Carthen, is a former professional football player with the New England Patriots and a highly sought-after international speaker in the areas of leadership, business and identifying your purpose in life.

He has served for over eighteen years in both the public and private sectors of Leadership and Business Management, specifically with the National Football League’s Player’s Association, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

As a visionary, scholar, and author, Dr. Carthen is a distinguished fellow in the Beta Phi academic literary society and has researched and published in the areas of Business, Positive Psychology, and Leadership within Organizational Frameworks.

Jason has appeared on networks such as ESPN, and NBC. He regularly hosts the television show on WDLI “Joy in our Town”, which highlights social issues that impact our world.
